[AskAVet] Re: Severe wounds what to use

Lime you get at the co-op not garden lime hydrated can get pickling lime
at the grocery store which is the same thing. Just wash out wounds and
pack with the lime. Rinse off daily and throw more on, you won't wash
off the old lime and it will look crusty as all get out but it will heal
from the inside out and not leave a scar much at all. Several years
back someone gave us a filly that had gotten into a fence took a chunk
of meat out of her chest I could stick my fist into. Doc told me to
just keep the lime on it and it would heal up in about 6 weeks. I took
weekly pictures and in 6 weeks you could never tell she had ever been
cut, had to really look for the tiny dime size scar it left. I use it
now on every cut on all my animals. I just wash it out good and pack
away and the lime does all the rest. Trust me it works!
