[AskAVet] colt rubbing himself raw

We have a 2 coming 3 colt. He is in a stall with run and his yearling brother is next to him. We noticed recently he is going bald on his sides. I was worried he was eating his sides like I have heard of but we noticed he is sitting and just rubbing, rubbing, rubbing. he does bite his side some but no blood or gore. i know some of it is from boredom and hay is in short supply so we have been feeding chaff hay which does not have the play time regular hay does. Any suggestions, ideas, etc. He is on a regular worming schedule. Please help. OJ
