I am really disappointed, I was going to feed everyone safe choice, but now I will be on the hunt again for a good pelleted feed that won't kill me money wise....the chickens are switching to kent feeds, maybe the horse, pony and goats will switch too...Has anyone used their pelleted equestrian choice feeds? Their old formula had no animal fat and the first ingredient was alfalfa meal...I guess it's a lesson learned, check your feed tag every time you buy, unless it's a locked formula...NO substitutions allowed...

It used to be a common practice for feed companies to increase their protien levels by adding animal byproducts. I thought they had ended it when the mad cow disease scare hit the world. I gues I was wrong.

Hi, all,
I just compared the ingredient tags on a new vs older bag, they changed their ingredients, and the first thing that struck me was the fact that "animal fat" is the last ingredient listed. I really didn't think equine, being plant eaters, were supposed to be eating animal anything?? Also, the older bag listed alfalfa meal as the first ingredient, now it's not even on there anywhere and "plant protein products" is listed as the first ingredient.
I have done a lot of comparisons of dog food, do they list ingredients on horse feed the same way? Greatest amount in the feed first to last?? Thanks!
