I have a mare who had a stroke. I wet her grain down, pelleted Sr. , to a mush. She can eat that, and I also wet her hay. Takes a long time for her to eat but she does. Grass is much easier for her. It's been 12 yrs since her stroke. I quit riding her, found that the stroke had effected her equilibrium when she made any quick turns.
