Re: [AskAVet] runny eye

LOl Christy!!  Yeah I think our obsession probably prevents a lot of infection, by removing the attractant to begin with.  Every morning at work with trail ride horses, I swipe their eyes, lol.  I think it also looks better for the customers to see clear eyed horses.  Strange to say, I actually started that habit out of nerves when I first worked with these scary stabled racehorses.  I used to make friends with them by swiping their eyes, and they looked forward to it.  My horses come up for it if they need their eyes done, LOL, they are my constant ones I do it to, all day I will look for signs of muck!!!  Just so I can get it out, LOL.  Kim xoxoo

Yeah, I'm fanatical about picking eye boogers, too. I figger, why give the flies MORE to feast on? LOL

I also find it is useful to just wipe the sleep out of their eyes every morning, too. I have a pedantic habit of doing this, I do it like a maniac with every horse I encounter LOL!!
