Thank you so much for replying. We went out to look at the mare and to us she seems just got a grass belly.
But I will text her now and suggest ultrasound and trying to tease the mare. It's a pity because I have a stallion, but we are quite a distance away. But maybe someone nearer has one.

Since most of the fetal growth occurs late in pregnancy, in early to mid pregnancy there are few if any signs. Suggest ultrasound with the vet if she is really curious. Also, she could tease the mare if there is a stallion nearby. If she is in heat, she's not pregnant.

Hi,
I am going out with my friend tomorrow as a lady wants us to see if we think her mare is pregnant!
Any hints on what to look for?
Mare definitely has NOT been around any stallion for past three months, anything before that is possible as she came from sales.

Someone suggested milk vein on tummy, bagging up, tummy drooping. Need more hints if possible. VERY cranky mare, being ridden by a child. Great to ride but on the ground is quite the terror at times.
We are not playing vets, we just wanna make some observations for the lady.
And any way to tell if she is NOT pregnant would help, too!!!

If the has black skin under the white hair, she is actually "gray". If she's "white" she would have pink skin. Pink skin is more susceptible to cancer. I'd have her vet checked if at all possible.
