Re: [AskAVet] Re: pregnant skinny mares

devorah,
hello, im not sure about who they were bred to, i can find out. Lisa Kreiger is the lady who has them now. but from our understanding, it was somebodys backyard arab stallion, and he was black. Lisa does have a website, but we just got the horses 2 days ago, so there not on there. i can give you her information, she would be able to give you more information than i can.

The mares are in Madison Ohio (northern) they both raced, and were also started under saddle. the younger of the two looks like she was cute when she had weight on her, and is chololate brown, the other is a bay. The chocolate mare had a horrible abcess in her front hoof, theres a hole where it blew out. let me know if you would like Lisa's phone number and i can email it to you.

Where are you located??

Sarah from Ohio

As, CJ said, it's not up to you to take over care of the horses and if anything went wrong, you (and your friends at the barn) could be liable. The owner is responsible for care.

And the lady thought she would make extra money by breeding them and selling the babies.. Which i believe breeding should b left to breeders.. Not back yards... well she lost her job. And is moving back to new zealand. And meanwhile these girls r in bad bad shape.. The lady at our barn is the advisior i guess for this area. And were a pretty tight knit group at the barn. We all help out with everything and everyone as much as possible. We all were just looking for the best and safest way to get these girls back in health so we can find them proper homes that will take care of them. Sometimes i wish it was as easy to spay horses as it was cats and dogs... Thanks sarah from ohio.
