Re: [AskAVet] Bleach Bath?

My sentiments exactly Kim.? I was in shock.? At first I thought he was yankin my chain.? Surely he had to be joking but he wasn't.? This is one of those things that I'm not gonna be able to wrap my brain around.? If this is true and bleach does actually work to keep the bugs off, I'll just have to find another solution.? I just won't be able to bring myself to try this....like Anchovies...I just can't.? LOL

Wow bleach?? I have never heard of using bleach on a horse at all.? It's making my eyes pop too, and I would imagine the horse's eyes would be too.

Honestly have never heard of bleach as a preventative for bugs on horses and to my mind, sounds like it would dry out the coat??

Maybe others here know more?

Kim

?

I'm new to horse ownership and everyday I learn more and more how different horses are to care for than dogs.? Some of the remedies and solutions people use for their horses have made my eyes pop but I don't know everything so I ask questions.? I know a guy who?washes his horse with laundry detergent and bleach...yes bleach.??He said that a person from animal control told him it keeps bugs off of him.? Is this true?
