Honestly have never heard of bleach as a preventative for bugs on horses and to my mind, sounds like it would dry out the coat?
Maybe others here know more?

I'm new to horse ownership and everyday I learn more and more how different horses are to care for than dogs.? Some of the remedies and solutions people use for their horses have made my eyes pop but I don't know everything so I ask questions.? I know a guy who?washes his horse with laundry detergent and bleach...yes bleach.??He said that a person from animal control told him it keeps bugs off of him.? Is this true?
