She looks pretty good (dirty, but healthy) still and seems to be okay at the new stables. I started treating her sarcoid with this alternative cancer treatment developed originally for humans... Was kind of suspicious about it at first, because the lab that makes it used to be in Florida until the FDA shut it down! But lots of people on the internet swear by it for treating sarcoids, so I thought what the heck- it's only $60 and it's not like I can afford much else.
After three or four days of treatment, the thing went from the size of a half a fist (protruding from her leg), to the size of a 50 cent piece (flat)! Then she itched the top of it off (which she WASN'T supposed to do) despite layers upon layers of bandages... now it's about the size of a quarter and I just have the root left to get rid of. I'M SO HAPPY!!! If the rest of it actually DOES fall off, I'm writing the company a big, fat letter of appreciation and sending pictures to all of my friends. (She's had it for almost five years now, so I'm a bit overjoyed. Lol.)
As for the new place, I think I like it. No roundpen and it's nothing fancy, but it's EXTREMELY functional and well-planned out. Can't complain for the price ($130/mo partial care), and seeing that most places around my area are TOTAL crap it's a good deal. I also think that I might just get along with the owner. She seems like a reasonable woman- still a horse-person but definately reasonable. I don't get along with a lot of horse-people just because they tend to be pushy and act like they know everything. I've had the worst experiences, too! People grabbing the leadrop and even REINS out of my hands and telling ME what I'm going to feed MY horse... but I don't think it's gonna be all that bad at this place.
One bad thing, however, is that my horse has COMPLETELY lost her manners since I've been moving her around (3 places in one year). I asked the stableowners son to hold her and she was pulling on him and practically tipped him over! I felt so embarrassed... She even pulls on me and nudges me around now. When her leg is healed, she's definately gonna get some groundwork in that new arena.
