so a nother very irrispobsible horse owner who adopted 2 ottb kept them in a field with a arab stallion. And has been selling the babies. The one is 5 and had one stillborn. And is preg again. The other is a bit older. And has had one anglo arab baby... Well the genius lost her job. And now our barn has two very very skinny preg mares. So skinny to the piont you can see every rib. Hip and back bone. they r dur in june and may of next year. They havent been wormed. Is there a safe wormer? And d/t the fact they r so skinny. Is there a safe way to slowly put weight back on them if they havent already aborted the babies? They r on neon green 2nd cut hay. And just a handful of grain.. Since they havent been on grain eithr. i was thinking besides a vet.. Mare plus vitamins. Heavy hay. Bran mash 2x a week. And slowly introducing grain... Any good prego grain??
