as a cold on up to something serious. Might just be allergies? Best advice
is to have a vet evaluate him. I always have a thorough vet check done on
any horse I bring in plus a 30 day quarantine regimen.

Subject: [AskAVet] mini horse help needed
I just acquired a miniature horse last week. This guy has really been
through it. He has bite marks all over him and has a cresty neck that has
broken over. He is very sweet. I got a neg coggins with him and that's all
the info I have. He seems to be fighting a cold now. He is coughing and has
nasal discharge that was clear yesterday and is yellow today. He also has
some discharge from his right eye. I lost my job this spring and can't
really afford a vet visit if I can help it. Would penicillan help? If so, do
you know how much I should give him? I'd say he's about 200 pound or so.
Thanks!!
